Plantation Thinning
When a pine plantation reaches about 10 to 12 years of age, the tree growth comes to a standstill because the trees are too dense. At this point in the life of the plantation, a thinning is required to maximize the growth potential. In this situation, we have independent logging contractors who come in and perform the thinning. These contractors specialize in this type of operation and have many years of experience. Here are a few pictures that show our thinning contractors at work.
